“The eyes in my paintings are important : they look straight to the viewer, they search for eye-contact with the person looking at them. I like to paint in detail, and I try to use colours that match the expression of the faces I paint, so the result is a powerful painting. The look can also be a bit mysterious, and the feelings the viewer has can differ from person to person.”
