““I like to think I create paintings that are an expressive vision of the world we live in today. What I do is mainly figurative, in a contemporary fashion, dealing with intriguing themes, using exotic color and sensual form as expressive tools. It has been said that the attractiveness and the success of my work has been due to the mystery and ambiguity which I try to incorporate into it. In the 30 or so years that I have been painting, I have gone through several different stylistic periods. What I believe holds them together has been my consistent love of vivid color, sensual forms and my desire to express my opinion of the world around me as I see it. One of the ways I have kept closely in touch with this world is through the hundreds of students I have taught painting and drawing to throughout my career. To them I owe a depth of gratitude.””
