Having worked as an artist and architect in Europe and in North America, in many modes, the themes of my work have a number of common threads. A layering of information, experience and it's context reappears in many iterations. The palimpsest, with the continual accumulation and loss of layers implies divergent paths, motions forward and in reverse. The resulting evidence, in built form, in the artifact, is a record of it's path. Process as an ends rather than a means.
Artist's statement : Theo Allofs was born and raised in Germany. For the past 20 years he has been living in Canada’s remote Yukon Territory. After finishing his Masters Degree in Geology he pursued his dream and started a career as a travel photographer. In 1995 he began specializing in nature and wildlife photography. Artist's statement : My work has been variously described as realist, figurative, descriptive and narrative. Sometimes even as having a touch of surrealism. I don’t think it can be limited to just one of those adjectives, and yet each one of them has an element of truth in it. The fact of the matter is that I seem to use a range of different ideas, which don’t seem connected with each other at first. Artist's statement : Autodidacte dans le domaine des arts visuels, Odile Tellier est néamoins titulaire d'un bacalauréat en mathématiques et statistique à l'UQAM ainsi que d'une formation professionnelle en danse classique et contemporaine à l'École supérieure de ballet du Québec. Artist's bio : Née en 1964 à Montréal, Maryse Lapointe a grandi entourée d'œuvres de Riopelle, Lemieux, Fortin, Dallaire, Pellan, Borduas. Elle a étudié l'histoire de l'art en autodidacte et elle s'est mise à peindre à la fin des années 1990, particulièrement influencée par les mouvements expressionniste et néo-expressionniste (Chaïm Soutine, Otto Dix, Francis Bacon, Willem de Kooning, William Kentridge et Marc Séguin).
